Top Ten Tips On How To Enhance Your Smile:

1. Veneers that require preparation

Want a straight and natural white smile? Veneers are an excellent option for dental anomalies. Veneers are great for restoring worn down, broken or chipped teeth, replacing old fillings that are discoloured. They can also be used to add back length to your teeth. Indeed they too can be used for straightening teeth and creating a whiter look for dark stained teeth. The process usually takes 2-3 weeks from start to finish

2. Non preparation Veneers

These are veneers that offer you a straight, natural and white smile without hacking the teeth to pieces. These bespoke veneers are designed by the dentist with the patient and then constructed by our technician or porcelain artist. Non prep veneers are not suitable for everyone but they are great for closing gaps and spaces, straightening minor irregularities, enhancing small and worn down teeth, creating a fuller look, restoring broken or chipped teeth and creating a whiter natural look, or a Hollywood look.

3. Whitening

Teeth Whitening is an excellent option for renewing your smile to a more youthful, radiant smile. As expressed I use Enlighten which can make the teeth go several shades lighter.

4. Invisalign

Invisalign. Yes I am mentioning it again. You will see a 3-D animation of your tooth movement from start to finish- this is known as a clincheck. Each set of aligners are worn 22 out of 24 hours a day for 2 weeks at a time, gently and gradually moving your teeth into their new position. Since the aligners are removable, you are still able to eat all the foods you love, and brushing and flossing remains the same.

5. Hygiene cleaning

Keeping up with your regular 3-6 month hygiene appointments is an effective way to keep your teeth healthy and shiny. During the appointment we will clean all the surfaces of your teeth, veneers, and crowns using an advanced ultrasonic device and provide a thorough polish. We even have a stain removal system to remove those stubborn stains.

6. Replacement of Old White fillings.

Over time these composite white fillings do stain and can start to leak. If you are whitening your teeth you will notice that these fillings stand out even more. Indeed whitening, whitens teeth not fillings.  When replacing these white fillings, a brighter shade can be chosen to match your teeth if you have whitened. If it is a large composite filling, a more permanent option would be a porcelain veneer to more fully protect the teeth.

7. Replacing Old Crowns

Metal crowns were used a lot back in the day. If you have older metal crowns, often times aesthetically you may want to upgrade to a porcelain crown. Porcelain options are also ideal for replacing large amalgam fillings in our back teeth or old composite white fillings.

8. Cosmetic Contouring

Often the edges of teeth can be uneven, chipped or jagged and it gives the smile an uneven appearance. This can easily be fixed by gently contouring the teeth so the edges are even which aesthetically creates a better smile line. This is also a great option for people who have finished orthodontic treatment and want to aesthetically contour the edges of the teeth for that finishing touch. I like to think of it as manicuring the edges of the teeth. There is no harm to the enamel.

9. Lasers and Gums

Laser Gum Contouring is a non-surgical advanced method for shaping and adjusting the gum tissue around the teeth to create an aesthetic and pleasing shape for your smile. A diode laser is used, which cauterises the tissue as it moves. This means no stitches, no bleeding and very minimal recovery time. Laser Gum Contouring can be used for a full smile or just one tooth. This treatment is great for correcting a gummy smile or for a combination treatment with Porcelain Veneers

10. Mind the gap

No one likes an empty space. There are several options for replacing missing teeth. These include bridges, implants which are fixed and do not have to be removed. There are also removable options. We will cover some of these in detail later on.
